Our Mission

Our mission is to celebrate military personnel and first responders with an inclusive, family-friendly festival honoring all who serve in the United States Armed Forces and protect us at home and abroad.

Who Are We?

NC Freedom Fest, 501(c)(3), brings together members of the following community organizations with the goal of celebrating military appreciation:

  • Goldsboro Elks Lodge
  • City of Goldsboro
  • Downtown Goldsboro Development Corporation
  • Wayne County Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee
  • Seymour Johnson Air Force Base

Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean Sea and the Pacific Ocean through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points. With Abraham Lincoln as the flagship, deployed strike group assets include staffs, ships and aircraft of Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 12, Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 2, the guided-missile cruiser USS Leyte Gulf (CG 55) and Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 7.
