Goldsboro City Council Unanimously Approves NC Freedom Fest 2026 Street Closures

NC Freedom Fest at City Council

Planning for NC Freedom Fest 2026 continues to move forward after the Goldsboro City Council unanimously approved the festival’s Special Event Application and request for street closures during a recent council meeting.

NC Freedom Fest President Doug McGrath presented the plans for this year’s festival and asked for the City’s continued partnership by supporting the event with staff assistance, particularly in grounds operations and public safety. He also invited members of the City Council to attend the festival and help deliver a heartfelt thank you to the military, veterans, first responders, and all who serve our community and country.

Approved street closures for Saturday, September 12, 2026, include Center Street from Ash Street to Pine Street, portions of James Street, and sections of Spruce, Chestnut, Walnut, and Mulberry Streets between James and John Streets. This year’s festival footprint expands to include Mulberry Street, creating even more room for activities and visitors.

Join us in Downtown Goldsboro on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for a full day of patriotic celebration featuring vendors, family activities, live entertainment, featuring T. Davis as the opening act, and Grammy Award-winning country artist Ashley McBryde as the headlining performer. Admission is free thanks to the generous support of our sponsors and community partners.

We appreciate the City of Goldsboro‘s continued support and look forward to welcoming everyone to another unforgettable NC Freedom Fest.
